| Aleister Crowley the Young Magus |
To view the details of AC's life I recommend going to the wikipedia page about him (Click Link Wikipedia Bio of Aleister Crowley). Here we are going to discus not only his discoveries, fails, and confessions, but I may also post other tidbits related to magik, meditation, and esoteric subjects.
There is a love and hate with Mr. Crowley. He was a bit of a douche, but very instrumental in revealing the magik systems of The Golden Dawn, Rosicrucian, and Masons. Many many whom pursue and use esoteric faith and philosophy would not know the details of their kraft, and would have been left to create and discover mystical practices on their own. As with all things AC himself was a mix of good and bad. His pursuit of magik led him to try over the top spells, sex magic, and rumored sacrifices in an attempt to perform magik.

| Crowley's Hermetic Robes |
Crowley began his formal training of magik as an apprentice of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Other probates of the magical order included W.B. Yeats. Short lived AC turned his attention Goetia Magik. Which involved evoking demons (I dont recommend this). This is where his behavior started to become a spectacle, and create contempt for him by many leaders, countries, and holy men. He betrays THGD because they did not approve of his life style, or manner of practicing magik. The more he was reviled, the further he had to push the boundaries.
The rumors and facts abound Aleister Crowley, rape, human sacrifice, bi sexuality, devil worship, conjuring demons, sex magik, and the whole lot of crazy ideas on manipulating the physical and emotional world of human beings.
The best way to know who he was would be to read the books and media he left behind. There are many great documentries on the man. Many famous, and repected people have tried to contact him beyond the dead. All in hopes that magik may work for them. "Who knows maybe it will".
I think mostly that in the end Aleister concluded what many of us have. Magik is on the inside of the mind, not the outside.
